It's the July 12th bank holiday in Dundrug, the Las Vegas
of the Republic of Ireland, and the northerners have marched south
across the border for the weekend. Jerome, who was English once, is
the town's freethinker, only Goth punk and self-elected poet laureate
and communist. With the help of Finbar McHugh, free lover, accomplice
and rival who has the condoms and the cash, Jerome hatches his plan
to find out about love with complicated northerner Siobhan. But his
parents are none too keen on Jerome going out to a disco, so will
he even get to leave the house, let alone meet with Siobhan?
Fever is a modern punchy novel that takes the reader on a turbulent
