Miren Agur Meabe wins the 2021 Spanish National Poetry Award!

Parthian author Miren Agur Meabe has been awarded the 2021 Spanish National Poetry Award for her latest poetry collection, Nola gorde errautsa kolkoan (Holding ashes close to the heart)!
It's the first time in history that poetry written in Basque receives the highest poetry award in Spain. 'This award is for Euskara, my beloved language, and for the Basque Country,' Meabe said upon receiving the prize.
Parthian published Meabe's novel A Glass Eye in 2018, and will be releasing Burning Bones, its follow-up short story collection--both translated by Amaia Gabantxo--by the end of 2021. Holding Ashes Close to the Heart is the poetry collection that closes this three-book/three-genre triptych.
Huge congratulations, Miren!
