"What I didn’t know then was that everything that had led me on my hapless way – the desire to imagine what it had been like back then, the thrill of being in a landscape that had hardly altered since those voyageurs and traders had paddled through it, the excitement about what lay ahead beyond the next portage – would never go away."

On day six read Tristan Hughes essay On Being a Writer in Wales over on Nation Cymru.
This June we published Hughes' historical adventure novel Boundary Waters. Set amongst the starkly beautiful landscapes of the upper great lakes of Lower Canada during an era of blurred and shifting boundaries between nations and cultures. Where nothing is certain and misapprehensions can be fatal, Arthur Stanton’s journey becomes a tragicomic tale of love, loss and redemption. Named Waterstones Welsh Book of the Month, Welsh Libraries Book of the Month and Books Council of Wales Book of the Month for June!

Boundary Waters was launched in style with fellow Canadian/Welsh writer Tyler Keevil for a special canoe trip down the River Avon, books in tow! Starting from BookHaus in Bristol and then down the Avon for an event at Mr B's Emporium in Bath.
