We were delighted that writer and translator Eluned Gramich participated within the year of Wales and Japan, supported by Wales Arts International, British Council and Arts Council of Wales. Flying out to Osaka in October with fellow writers and artists Susan Karen Burton, Catrin Menai and Elin Gruffydd for a cultural exchange and participating in a Welsh Cultural Festival set-up by Kansai St David's Society.
Read Eluned postcard from the trip, addressed to her daughter Angharad.

Eluned first encounter with Japan is captured in her beautiful memoir in Woman Who Brings the Rain, depicting her time at a homestay on the remote Hokkaido island in the far north of Japan. Now available in a new edition and accompanied by original calligraphic art by Kuniko Sheldon.
