A 20th anniversary edition with a foreword by James Dean Bradfield.

'Personal experience distilled, raw, visceral that aims to connect not confuse.' James Dean Bradfield

‘Thoughtful, provocative and challenging, these poems engage and enrage.’ Peter Tatchell, human rights campaigner

‘Very strong stuff.’ Harold Pinter

'Jones addresses the politics of voice with fervour and anger. These are poems for performance in the fullest sense, energetic and dramatic...' Eleanor Rees, Poetry Wales

A 20th anniversary edition with a foreword by James Dean Bradfield. Fiercely honest, compassionate, unconventional, political and personal, this selection of poetry reflects a unique blend of bitterness and tenderness through the use of blunt and powerful language.

These are hymns and elegies; protest songs and battle cries as Jones speaks to and for the disaffected: ‘We are the tapestry / The crackling cracks of modernity / Dislocated desperations stitched together / By the disparate verses of our skin / I write therefore we exist / We exist therefore i write / And from this page this scream.’

Patrick Jones is author of six performed works and many more published. He is currently Writer in Residence with The Royal College of Psychiatrists in Wales. He was born in Tredegar, Wales.
