A SERIES OF BOOKS SHOWCASING THE BEST WRITING FROM ESTONIA, LITHUANIA, AND LATVIA.
Parthian Baltic has been created to celebrate a diversity of contemporary Baltic writing in terms of age, gender, and experience. Translated to English in many cases for the first time, twenty-two poets bring their best work to a new readership through themes ranging from love and loss, through mortality and mystery, to the beauty and variety of nature and the Baltic landscape.
Parthian Baltic is threaded with common themes; the familiar hopes and shared fears of three countries with complex political and social histories, but the books also celebrate the distinct identities, characteristics and strengths which have grown from each nation’s unrest to provide a fascinating picture of the creative voices in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia today.
