SUBMISSIONS

We are currently accepting submissions with a view to possible publication in 2018 / 2019.

In the first instance, please submit:

FICTION / CREATIVE NON-FICTION

1) A concise but comprehensive synopsis of your piece of work (1-2 sides of A4 maximum). We need a full synopsis including endings / spoilers.

2) The first 30 pages or three short stories as an example of your style of writing.

3) A covering letter which should explain why you believe your writing sits comfortably with the Parthian list, and what additionality and breadth it offers the list, and your publishing history to date if you have one including any related bursaries, residencies and prizes.

4) We do not usually accept genre fiction of any kind, or children's / teenage fiction.

5) An SAE with the appropriate postage if you'd like us to return your submission or an email address to contact you at.

6) If you are sending short stories please also note where you have had stories published in journals, magazines, websites and anthologies of note / or placed highly in competitions and the dates.

We are sorry but we are unable to return manuscripts without an SAE, or with an SAE for the incorrect postage amount.

POETRY

We are currently looking ahead to 2019 publication and beyond now, as our small list is full for 2017 / 2018.

Please note that we publish only a limited amount of poetry collections, and we do not publish poetry pamphlets. If you would like your work to be considered, please send us:

1) An up-to-date biography, detailing your publishing/awards history to date. (We would expect prospective poets for our list to have built up a track record of publication in quality magazines, such as Poetry Wales, New Welsh Review, Planet, Poetry Review etc., or to have published a pamphlet with a respected small publisher.)

2) In the first instance, a poetry sampler of around 15-20 poems. The sampler should provide a clear indication of themes and approaches, and be representative of the overall quality of your work.

3) An SAE with the appropriate postage if you'd like us to return your submission or an email address to contact you at.

We are sorry but we are unable to return manuscripts without an SAE, or with an SAE for the incorrect postage amount.

Okay, my submission fits your guidelines and is ready to send. Where should I post it?

FICTION AND ALL OTHER MANUSCRIPTS should be sent as a hard copy to our PUBLISHING EDITOR:

Susie Wild, 148 Keir Hardie, Swansea University, Singleton Park, Swansea, SA2 8PP.

Please note that your submission will only be read if you send a hard copy. Digital-only submissions will not be considered.

We aim to respond to all submissions within 12 weeks but during busy periods or over the festive / summer office holidays this can take longer.
