'Country Dance is a lost classic.' BBC Arts

'Written with terse, incisive power ... the novels of Margiad Evans glow with a dark... passionate light.' Derek Savage

'A phenomenon in Border Country writing.' John Powell Ward

Country Dance is a story of passion, jealousy and revenge centred around a
young woman torn between the opportunities and dangers of her life who grows
up in an isolated rural community on the border between England and Wales.
A classic love story where the rural way of life is no idyll, but a savage and
exacting battle for survival.
