Jeffrey Weeks' new memoir 'beautifully written, wise and insightful'

We were thrilled to see Jeffrey Weeks interviewed in the Western Mail this week by Jenny White, who described his new memoir as 'beautifully written, wise and insightful.'

'...the book traces a life lived through a seismic period in gay history, delving into the intellectual processes behind his own academic writing, as well as into his personal experiences, from his early days of activism to the contentment of married life.'

In the interview, Jeffrey spoke about his early career as an academic, his near ruin following the publication of the then controversial book Coming Out, as well as his own personal experiences and struggles throughout the decades of the gay liberation movement, including the loss of his former partner to HIV/AIDS and his gradual shift towards a focus on the exploration of 'values, relationships, care and love' in his writing - a shift which culminated, he says, in Between Worlds.

Unfortunately, the interview was available in print-form only. However, the book itself which delves into all of these fascinating and important periods of Weeks' life - and gay history - will be available to buy from all good bookshops on April 1st.

You can pre-order the hardback, and be the first to get your hands on it, here
